Every Monday, The Rush looks at the biggest upsets of the week, measured against the spreads in the Deseret News' Parry's Power Guide.
Layton Christian over Maple Mountain, 10-7. Layton Christian was a two-point underdog, and Andy says it should stop being an underdog at all.
Duchesne over Kanab, 28-0. Duchesne was a 3.5-point underdog in a matchup many expect could be a 1A state championship preview. Sophomore Kyson Despain scored all four touchdowns for the Eagles.
Logan over Grantsville. The Grizzlies were 8.5-point underdogs and won by one point in a wild finish. Grantsville led by one and only needed to punt from its own end zone, but the snap sailed over the punter's head for a safety. Logan, led by Easton Favero and running back Mason Birch, is having a great season under coach Justin Hugie.
Pleasant Grove over Timpview, 28-21. The Vikings were 13.5-point underdogs. Timpview is 3-6 and 18th in the RPI despite close losses to Springville and Orem, and its next game against Spanish Fork could decide whether it makes the 5A playoffs.
Timpanogos over Park City, 24-23, as a 17-point underdog.
No. 1: West Field over Fremont, 35-16. The Longhorns were 23-point underdogs. After losing their first two games, they have found their identity running the ball with Caden Judy and Elijah Woods, who can each go over 100 yards on 15 carries.
