This article recaps a segment from The Rush's Monday, Oct. 12, 2026 episode. Watch the full show.

The Rush ranks the best performances each week, but only in games projected to be within two touchdowns.

Offense and defense

On offense, Skyline scored 37 against Highland in a big Region 10 matchup, Logan put up 37 on Grantsville, Richfield scored 38 against Canyon View and Bountiful beat Brighton 38-0. Whitehorse scored 40 against Altamont, Gunnison Valley scored 48 against North Sevier and South Sevier put up 55 against Rich.

There were an unusual number of shutouts in even matchups. Duchesne's shutout of Kanab tops the list, followed by Gunnison Valley over North Sevier, Northridge over Bonneville and Bountiful over Brighton. Olympus held Woods Cross to six, Lone Peak held Lehi to seven in a 14-7 win, and Layton Christian and Beaver each allowed seven.

The RPI

The UHSAA RPI has Skyridge (7-1) ahead of Mountain Ridge (9-0) in 6A, even though Mountain Ridge beat Skyridge in Week 1. Andy says that's absurd and that Mountain Ridge has to be No. 1. Herriman, Corner Canyon and Westlake round out the top five, with Copper Hills at No. 10 after nearly beating Herriman.

In 5A, unbeaten West leads Orem, Box Elder, Springville and Bountiful. Ridgeline (9-0) is just ahead of Hurricane (8-1) in 4A, followed by Stansbury, Snow Canyon and Crimson Cliffs. Morgan is head and shoulders above the rest of 3A. San Juan and Delta lead 2A, Duchesne is No. 1 in 1A after beating Kanab, and Monticello tops 8-man.

Region 3 is still the most balanced region, with an average margin of about 10 points in region games. Region 6, 8-man, Region 9 and Region 1 follow. The least balanced is 1A South at about 30 points, with Region 10 next at 27.2.
