Ridgeline Riverhawks senior Noah Fiefia ran for 372 yards and seven touchdowns against Bear River, Andy said, in a 56-30 win on Oct. 16. Larry's question on Wednesday's show: Fact or fiction, Fiefia is the best running back in Utah in any class?
"That's the best game anybody's ever had," Andy said, with one exception. He pointed to Water Canyon's Alma Barlow, who ran for about 500 yards in one game in 8-man.
Fiefia averages 215.1 rushing yards per game and has 41 total touchdowns, 36 rushing and five receiving, according to MaxPreps. "I love Noah," Andy said. "He's tremendous."
Andy also did the math on a possible state record. Jaylen Warren holds the Utah single-season rushing record with 3,099 yards at East. Fiefia has about 2,151. If Ridgeline wins four playoff games and he keeps his average, he would add about 860 yards. "He could get close to 3,000 yards, which is insane," Andy said.
He does it with help. Running back Hudson Parry is also getting a lot of carries for Ridgeline. "That's a bunch of bad dudes up there in Millville," Andy said.
Andy said other backs have had great seasons too, including San Juan's Brig Palmer. But he gave Fiefia the edge. "With that last performance," he said, "I think he's got to be the guy."
Unbeaten Ridgeline is the No. 1 seed in 4A and hosts Mountain View on Friday, Oct. 30. "Hope he stays healthy," Andy said.
